Employment, Training and Business Opportunities Committee We are in the process of building a vendor list for LOGCAP IV
procurements and would really like to expand this list to include
SDVOBs and VOBs. Could you help me in casing my net even wider
and put me in touch with any Veterans that can provide any of
the materials on this list? Please make sure they understand
that this is providing materials to the Army. The BOA (attached)
is self explanatory but if they have questions, tell them to
contact us. Feel free to pass on our contact information to all
you feel are capable of working with us and tell them we would
be happy to receive both contact e-mails and company capability
sheets. Click Here to downlaod the BOA [Excel File] VVA Endorses
VetJobs, Leading Internet “We at Vietnam Veterans of America are pleased to endorse VetJobs, the nation’s largest military-related job board on the Internet,” said John Rowan, VVA National President. “With the unemployment rate of newly discharged military veterans hovering around 15 percent–three times the national unemployment rate–VetJobs is a key resource for them and for Vietnam-era veterans too young to retire. “We have looked at many sites that purport to provide jobs for veterans and their family members,” Rowan said. “Our endorsement is meant to let our members know that VVA recognizes the success that VetJobs has had in finding quality jobs for thousands of veterans and their family members. We encourage them to use the VetJobs site: www.VetJobs.com.” To Search for jobs, Click The Logo Below Attention: Veteran Owned and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses As you know, President George Bush signed the Veterans Benefits Act of 2003, Public Law 108-183 on December 16, 2003. Section 308 of this law provides sole source and restricted competition to small business concerns owned and controlled by service-disabled veterans. Secretary Principi has reaffirmed the 3 percent for contract awards to Service Disabled Veteran Owned (SDVO) businesses and 7 percent for Veteran Owned (VO) businesses at the VA. The VA’s Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) has developed a database, Vetbiz Vendor Information Pages (VIP). This database is comprised of VO and SDVO small businesses and can be found on their website http://www.vetbiz.gov. There is no cost for veterans to list their company on VIP. To be eligible as a SDVO and/or VO your company must be 51% owned by a veteran and as a SDVO you must have a letter from the VA noting that you are Service-Connected Disabled Veteran.
