The Wounded Warrior Project is a non-profit organization that helps men and women of our armed forces who have been severely injured during the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations around the world.

“Vietnam Veterans of America’s founding principle is ‘Never again will one generation of  veterans abandon another,’ ” said VVA’s national President John Rowan. “We welcome opportunities to work with veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and with worthy organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project, which does great work helping those who have served our nation on the field of battle.”

Giordano, an attorney, served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1981-85 and from 1991-93. As National Service Director and acting COO of the Wounded Warrior Project, he is responsible for the management of all WWP programs benefiting the wounded, including the distribution of backpacks, the provision of benefits counseling, and the sponsorship of adaptive sports and recreation events.

The Leadership Conference brings together hundreds of Vietnam veteran advocates from around the nation. They will take part in four days of seminars, meetings, and other activities. VVA’s supporting organization, the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America, will hold its biennial convention and national elections concurrently with the Leadership Conference.
